The logic and principle of NonViolence requires that we examine and confront institutional and structural violence and racism. NonViolence is our means toward the ultimate end of Truth and Justness, there can be no other means.

Structural violence and racism are those social, economic and political structures dedicated to maintaining the "status quo". These structures almost always reinforce "the powers that be" usually at the expense of minorities - ethnic, racial or economic minorities.

Talking about King's "Beloved Community" without confronting these structures is of no use. Any community that behaves in a way that allows the status quo to ignore it is not change, it is isolation.

More later.
